About the Show
Prospera, a sorceress and former Duchesse of Milan, has been exiled to an island where she lives with her beautiful daughter, Miranda, an indentured spirit called Ariel, and a wild native called Caliban. Prospera uses magic to conjure a storm that shipwrecks her enemies on her island. She orchestrates events to exact revenge and reclaim her dukedom, while also ensuring her daughter Miranda's happiness. In the events that follow we see a plot to murder the King of Naples, a drunken scheme to kill Prospera and a romance between Miranda and the King’s son, Ferdinand. The play explores themes of power, betrayal, forgiveness, and the nature of magic and humanity. Hijinks ensue, and all ends well.
